Taken in Torres del Paine National Park, Chilean Patagonia.
We were living out of the car and camped along the river that night when a flat tire forced us to stay put. By morning, the towers were catching first light — granite rising straight out of the earth, wind pushing low clouds across the peaks.
Sometimes the road decides for you.
There’s a certain clarity that comes from sleeping beside a river with nowhere pressing to be. Cold water moving, spare tire mounted, and mountains that don’t care whether you planned to stop or not.
Some places aren’t found by itinerary.
They’re found by staying when you didn’t mean to.
